Introducing Gabi, Craft-n-Go's latest Artist Highlight! Gabi started her journey in face painting at 17, joining a company and dedicating herself to learning and practicing. Now a successful festival artist, she shares her expertise through the 'Radiant Art Inspirations' YouTube channel.
Let's meet Gabi!
CNG: How did you get started down the path of Face Painting?
Gabi: My entry into this field began when I was just 17 years old and desperately needed a new job after quitting my fast food gig. Despite having no prior art experience, I took a chance and started working for a face painting company. I spent months honing the new crafts, dedicating countless hours to practicing, joining online forums, and learning from other artists. The learning curve was steep, but my determination paid off, and after years of only being a privately hired face painter, I moved away from home for college, started my own business and I eventually became a festival artist working on a much larger scale.
After gaining a few years of experience, I decided to launch the 'Radiant Art Inspirations' YouTube channel, which offers easy, fun, and fast face paint tutorials. I wanted to create a resource that I wished I had when I was just starting out, including product reviews such as the amazing Mini and Standard Craft-n-Go. Then in 2021 I started creating Tiktoks telling true stories of what it is like being a face painter. I did not expect, however, for it to reach 600k followers.
CNG: How do you organize your face painting supplies?

CNG: What is a favorite artist tool you can't live without and
why?
Gabi: As an artist, I have a love for anything with glitter or incorporates Arty Brush Cakes by Sillyfarm. The Cakes are creamy, highly pigmented, and help bring my designs to life. However, the Craft N Go has been a game changer in terms of making my work more efficient and organized. I used to place all of my supplies on the table which led me to be incredibly unorganized. But now the Craft-n-Go not only enhances the presentation of my supplies, but it also speeds up the set-up and pack-up process, making my overall work experience more professional, and less of a hassle. I have had countless clients compliment my setup and immediately take my business card because they see the effort of looking organized and professional.
CNG: If you had one tip or words of wisdom for others who
dream of starting their own face painting business, what
would it be?
Gabi: My word of advice for anyone that wants to start a business is this: There is no right time. The right time is ONLY now!
You don't need fancy supplies or a perfect marketing strategy to begin. Instead, focus on practicing, sharing your progress online, and reaching out to other artists for advice and guidance. There are no dumb questions, and the more knowledge you obtain, the better equipped you will be to succeed.
