Tips and Tricks from the Pro's

Published by Tatyana Beerbower, Craft-n-Go on May 20th 2025

For semi-professional and professional face painters, the Craft-n-Go Case is a must-have for creating efficiency, functionality, and professionalism. Having a kit that folds, rolls, and sets up in minutes limits fumbling with bags, bins, and wasting precious time at events. Having the right setup and knowing the right tips can be a game changer for creatives on the move. Let’s take a deeper look into some professional face painting kits, and how these artists organize their cases to create maximum efficiency while on the go.

Meet Jane

Jane has been using her Standard Craft-n-Go Case for about seven years now; she’s a pro when it comes to setting up a case for maximum efficiency.

“I have had several variations on how I’ve set it up over the years, but ultimately, I always try to organize it in a way that’s going to be most streamlined for when I am working. Everything has a place.”

“My most used paints are on the work surface so I don’t have to constantly pick them up, they are just ready to go and then the extra essentials that I don’t use quite as often go up top.”

In the left compartment of her case, she keeps her spray bottle, wash cloths, brushes, etc. This ensures that everything stays within reach during busy gigs.

Meet Brooke

Brooke shares her ideal setup for her Standard Craft-n-Go Case and how she uses it to maximize functionality – allowing her to unleash her creativity!

Most important thing I've found to keep in mind when organizing my case is making sure when I carry it up and down everything stays where I left it. Makes setting up and taking down swift and delightful to look at as well.”

Brooke shares that the less supplies in her Craft-n-Go, the better. It enhances professionalism and functionality within her case. In her kit, she hosts the most essential face painting supplies: rainbow cakes, repotted paints, cleansing wipes, water cups, etc.

Meet Mickey

Like Brooke and Jane, Mickey has a Standard Craft-n-Go Case, and she too has a few ways that she finds professionalism and efficiency as she travels to and from face painting gigs.

“I prefer to setup using a table so I can spread out at my big gigs. If I setup using the legs then I like to use magnetic hooks to hang extra things like a cute garbage can or my bag of sponges.”

Whether Mickey uses a table, or has her case up on its legs, she still ensures that she keeps her most used supplies in her case.

Mickey also shares her favorite Craft-n-Go accessories that she pairs with her case for maximum efficiency.

”My brush holder is my favorite accessory. I take the insert from the tool tray and put it in the brush bin so that it is sturdy for my brushes but has extra room for my most used items like spray bottle, glitter poofer, fan, etc. I also LOVE the plastic tray that I used to re-pot my solid color paints. It fits perfectly, it's the right size, it's sturdy, and it's inexpensive!”

Each artist shared the importance of keeping your case light, and only carrying the essentials. This helps keep the efficiency, functionality, and professionalism.

#1 Tip

Additionally, we asked each face painter to share their number one tip to other face painters when seting up their Craft-n-Go Cases, here’s what they had to say:

Jane: My number 1 tip to consider when setting up your own case is to not overload it. For several reasons:

  • 1: Very importantly it helps to keep it clean & tidy
  • 2: It’s lighter
  • 3: Less overwhelming on the job. It’s really not essential to have 5 different pink one strokes to choose from as much as we’d all love that!

Brooke: “My number 1 tip is finding a way to lay everything out that you actually use where you can get to it easily and leave space for everything else. I do a lot of themed events and have hundreds of stencils I don't always use but don't want to pack and unpack. That's why I love the full-sized Craft-n-Go.”

Mickey: #1 tip... magnetize everything! That's one of the biggest perks of the Craft-n-Go cases is that they are magnetic and so easy to keep things organized!”

Every face painter develops their own system; however, the Craft-n-Go Case helps simplify and streamline it. With the right layout and tools, setup becomes faster, cleaner, and more professional, so you can focus on what you love most – unleashing your creativity!
